The football team defeated Mill Creek 17-9 on Oct. 10. The Lions’ defense was strong all night, led by LSU commitment Kevin Minter, who had two sacks. On offense, Ronnie Smith carried the ball 22 times for 96 yards and quarterback Nick Lombardo had two rushing touchdowns. The Lions beat previously undefeated Collins Hill 21-0 last Friday. The defense held the Eagles to 109 total yards and sacked quarterback Michael Box four times. On offense, running back Ronnie Smith rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown. The team hosts South Forsyth this Friday. … The softball team defeated Mill Creek 3-1 on Oct. 10 to win the Region 7-AAAAA tournament. Krysten Connelly was the winning pitcher and Gabby Bedard had three hits and scored two runs. The Lions defeated East Paulding 1-0 in the finals of the North Sectional last Saturday to advance to the Elite Eight. … The boys and girls cross country teams each finished first in the Wesleyan Invitational last Saturday.
