Bulldogs handle Cross Keys, fall to GAC

The football team notched its first victory since Week 1 with a 56-0 homecoming win over Cross Keys on Oct. 3. The win was the Bulldogs’ first in the newly renovated Decatur Stadium. The Bulldogs couldn’t carry the momentum into last Friday’s game with Greater Atlanta Christian, however, falling 35-18 to the Spartans. Decatur had its chances, as the Bulldogs had a first down inside the Spartan 10-yard line three times in the second half, but could only convert once when Jerome Stone recovered a fumble in the end zone. Quendarius Hall also scored on a 26-yard run with 42 seconds left to play. The Bulldogs hit the road this week for a 7:30 p.m. date with the Westminster Wildcats. The team hosts Blessed Trinity on Oct. 24 at the same time. … The volleyball team concluded its regular season with a 25-18, 25-9 loss to Westminster on Thursday and another two-game loss to Norcross (25-16, 25-13) the same day. … The cross country team will run at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, and the Last Chance Invitational on Oct. 25.
