Raiders put together comeback before falling to Lassiter, 22-15

After coming off a bye week, the football team was unable to hold off Lassiter, losing to the Trojans in the closing seconds of the game, 25-22. Lassiter built a 15-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Raiders came back to tie the game at 15-15 with back-to-back touchdowns from Anthony Guarcello. The Trojans regained the lead with a 17-yard touchdown to make the score 22-15. On the next drive, Alpharetta quarterback Mikal Abdul-Saboor connected with Michael Bennett for a 36-yard touchdown, but in the closing seconds of the game, the Trojans responded with a long field goal to secure the three-point win. The team will head to Roswell for a tough Region 6-AAAAA matchup this Friday at 7:30 p.m. … The softball team finished the season with an overall record of 11-15-1 and a region record of 4-7. In their closing game against Roswell, the Raiders lost 4-1. … The volleyball team will begin play in the Area 6-AAAAA Tournament on Thursday after coming off a three-match winning streak. The Raiders defeated Dacula (2-1), Riverwood (2-0), and Forsyth Central (3-0).
