Mustangs jump out to early lead, but drop game to Parkview

The football team took on the Parkview Panthers on Friday night at Parkview’s Big Orange Jungle. Although Parkview went on to win the game 64-20, head coach Terrone Owens’s club added yet another block upon which they are rebuilding the program. The Mustangs jumped out to an early and unexpected 14-7 lead. Senior quarterback Sean Frezell connected on his first nine passes, leading Meadowcreek to touchdowns on the team’s first two possessions. The second drive went 95 yards and ended in a 40-yard touchdown pass to Tydrell Wright. Frezell ended the night throwing for 338 yards with 25 completions on 43 attempts. He tossed three touchdowns and four interceptions. Meadowcreek will attempt to improve on its 1-3 record when the Mustangs host Shiloh on Friday at 7:30 p.m. … The softball team dropped a game 11-8 last Wednesday to Druid Hills in a six-inning contest. The game was called due to darkness. The team will close its regular season Monday on the road against Columbia. … The volleyball team lost to Parkview, Grayson and Flowery Branch this week. They will take part in the Gwinnett County Championships beginning on Thursday.
