Pirates shut out by Forsyth Central, prepare for Lithonia

Looking to earn its first win of the season, the football team suffered yet another blow, this time losing 15-0 against Forsyth Central. Progress, however, was made, as Stone Mountain at least appeared competitive for most the night. Next on the schedule is Lithonia, who Stone Mountain has not faced since 1999. In their last meeting, Stone Mountain walked away victorious, cruising to a 28-6 victory. … The softball team also fell to Forsyth Central this week, falling by a score of 15-0 last Wednesday. The Lady Pirates also fell earlier in the week to a tough, Southwest DeKalb team, losing by a final score of 9-0. The girls will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Forsyth Central for a 5 p.m. match. … The volleyball team suffered through a difficult stretch last week, dropping two matches on Tuesday. First the Lady Pirates dropped a two-game match against Tucker and then fell in two games against North Springs. The team will be in action on Tuesday when it travels to Druid Hills for a 5 p.m. match with Druid Hills and a 6 p.m. showdown against North Springs.
