After a big win over archrival Lassiter, the football team had a tougher task when they faced Roswell on Thursday. It was a close game that was decided when Longhorn receiver Marlon Anthony threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Khalid Oden en route to a 21-17 Kell win. Anthony had a great game catching the ball with nine receptions for 111 yards to go with the touchdown pass. Quarterback Austin Petrik threw the ball for 170 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. The Longhorns were also perfect when it came to protecting the ball as they had zero turnovers. The team travels to Pope on Friday. … The softball team defeated Alpharetta last week 2-1. Kelsey Mericka hit the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh. The Lady Longhorns will face Centennial on Thursday. … The volleyball team swept its tri-match on Thursday defeating Marietta and Hillgrove. The team will look to carry that momentum when it hosts the Cobb County Tournament on Thursday. … The softball team won five games in a row over the past week before losing three on Saturday. The team travels to Centennial on Thursday.
