It was another exhilarating night of high school football in Georgia, and the theme of the night was new schools knocking off more established rivals. A young Mountain View program played solid defense and knocked off previously unbeaten Mill Creek. Wesleyan was defeated by another young program, Holy Innocents’. Third-year program Allatoona defeated traditional north Georgia power Dalton in overtime.
Meanwhile, Cobb juggernauts McEachern, Walton and Lassiter rolled while Kell was dominated by an impressive East Paulding squad. In DeKalb, Marist knocked off region-rival SW DeKalb in the GPB TV game of the week.

COBB
Lassiter overcame a 17-14 halftime deficit to pull away from Milton and win 28-17 in a Class AAAAA non-region contest. The host Trojans (4-0) got touchdowns from Charlie Hegedus on a third-quarter reception and Willie Police on a short run in the fourth quarter to ice the victory. Safety Garrett Shank opened up the scoring with an interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter, and Isiah Willis rushed for a score in the second. Milton fell to 1-3 with the loss.
Allatoona 28, Dalton 21 (OT): Miles Jones scored all four touchdowns for the host Buccaneers, including a touchdown run in the first possession of overtime. On Dalton’s overtime possession, Allatoona’s Austin Purvis ended the game with an interception. Jones finished with 195 yards rushing, with three scores on the ground and one receiving.
McEachern 55, Campbell 0: Trent Thompson hooked up with Trey Fletcher for two scoring strikes and Thompson threw four total touchdowns as host McEachern rolled to victory. The Indians also scored on a 42-yard blocked punt return by Kel Parham and an 18-yard fumble return by Leon Boyce.
Wheeler 45, Centennial 41: The host Wildcats jumped out to a 17-0 lead and held on. Jimmy Meyer had a big night for the Knights, scoring twice on the ground and throwing for two more. Wheeler’s Jalen Wilson had a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Hiram 17, Osborne 7: Roderick Harrison scored a pair of rushing touchdowns from one yard and two yards out, helping Hiram erase an early 7-3 deficit. Trevor Wiley opened the night’s scoring with a 30-yard field goal in the first quarter for the host Hornets.
Pebblebrook 21, Harrison 14: Pebblebrook broke a 14-14 tie when quarterback C.J. Goodman scrambled for a score late in the fourth quarter, then Tyler Parham intercepted a Harrison pass on the Pebblebrook 3-yard line with a minute remaining to seal the win. Sertonuse Harris and Tyberius Cravens also scored for the visiting Falcons.
Whitefield Academy 22, Southwest Atlanta Christian 0: Host Whitefield scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters for the game’s only scoring. Ryan Jones scored from two yards out on his only carry, and quarterback Max Kemether added two touchdown passes.
East Paulding 34, Kell 0: Andrej Suttles had three touchdown catches for host East Paulding, which improved to 4-0. Brother Lorenz Suttles had four sacks and a blocked field goal, and running back Kamani Thomas rushed for 142 yards with a 79-yard touchdown run.
GWINNETT
Mountain View 9, Mill Creek 7: Jeffrey Stone’s 32-yard field goal in the third quarter was the game-winner for host Mountain View. Bears quarterback Chris Bartlett completed 87 percent of his passes for 130 yards. Mountain View trailed 7-6 at the half.
Norcross 35, Duluth 14: Alvin Kamara rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries to lead host Norcross past Duluth. Joseph Wilbur of the Blue Devils passed for 264 yards and threw a pair of scoring strikes to Jason Croom.
Grayson 56, Berkmar 6: The host Rams led 43-0 at halftime on the strength of two Devin Gillespie touchdown runs. Robert Nkemdiche, Callen Hightower, Terrius Watson and Wayne Gallman also found the end zone in the first half for Grayson.
Parkview 30, Shiloh 13: Running back Chris Carson paced the host Panthers with 221 yards of total offense. Carson rushed for 179 yards and added 42 yards receiving. Patrick Flowe ran for 42 yards and also intercepted a pass.
Buford 49, Therrell 0: The host Wolves spread the scoring around in their easy home win over Therrell. Six different rushers scored one touchdown each and quarterback Sam Clay threw for one score. Dontravious Wilson led Buford with 45 yards rushing.
FULTON
Mt. Pisgah 35, Pinecrest Academy 3: Quarterback Kyle Sloter was 17-of-23 passing for 295 yards and a touchdown for host Mt. Pisgah, and running back Kyle Jackson rushed for two scores. Jeremy Morris and Ben Miller also added rushing touchdowns for the Eagles.
Holy Innocents’ 14, Wesleyan 0: The host Golden Bears took a 14-0 halftime lead after touchdown runs by Owen Penn and Lee Davis. Holy Innocents’ defense caused two turnovers and held the Wolves to under 140 yards of total offense.
Riverwood 18, North Atlanta 0: The visiting Raiders put the hammer down on North Atlanta’s offense. At the half, North Atlanta had managed four yards of total offense. Wesley Bloeme kicked field goals of 24, 35 and 45 yards while running back Grant Drakeford scored a 45-yard touchdown.
Chattahoochee 45, Creekview 21: Chattahoochee used a strong night from sophomore running backs Chase Nelson (two touchdowns) and C.J. Leggett (three touchdowns) to win on the road. Trey Hart added an 85-yard interception return to the Creekside goal line.
King’s Ridge Christian 37, Fellowship Christian 25: Tarez Miller led the visiting Tigers with 239 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Wide receiver Devon Schmitt added two touchdowns with 47 yards on four receptions in the victory.
DEKALB
Marist 23, SW DeKalb 6: Quarterback Myles Willis rushed for touchdowns of 22 and 54 yards in the second half to help host Marist beat its Region 6-AAAA rival. Willis also passed for a 6-yard score to Gray King in the second quarter.
St. Pius 60, North Springs 0: The host Golden Lions held North Springs to just 16 yards of total offense and no first downs, while totaling 426 yards of offense. Jake Delaney had two carries, scoring on runs of 50 and 36 yards.
Redan 55, Lakeside-DeKalb 0: Redan used a high-powered offensive attack to defeat the visiting Vikings. As a team, the Raiders produced more than 600 yards of total offense. Running back Troy Howard rushed for 200 yards on 16 carries and scored four touchdowns.
OTHER
Lovejoy 71, Morrow 0: Lovejoy jumped on Morrow early and held a mammoth 64-0 lead at halftime in the Georgia Dome. Travis Custis had three rushing touchdowns, Horatio Brown returned an interception 95 yards for six and Michael Davis returned a fumble nine yards for a score.
West Forsyth 28, Rockmart 6: West Forsyth thrashed the host Yellow Jackets behind a punishing rushing attack. Blake Roberts rushed for 153 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns. The Wolverines quarterback A.J. Erdely passed for the remaining score on a 49-yard pass to Bradley Reeves.
