War Eagles play Bulldogs tough but lose 35-0

It was a tough Friday night for Wendell Early’s War Eagles, as they fell 35-0 to No. 4 North Gwinnett at home. Senior quarterback Brian Adams, committed to Kentucky, had 110 all-purpose yards on the night (64 rushing, 46 passing) as the Bulldogs defense locked down on the South Forsyth attack. The game was tied at 0-0 at the end of the first quarter, but North scored three touchdowns in the second stanza to go up 21-0 at the half. Despite several opportunities in the third quarter, the War Eagles could not get on the board. With the loss, South drops to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in Region 7-AAAAA. The team will travel to Chattahoochee (0-3) this Friday. … The boys cross country team finished in 10th place overall at the all-class championships at the Carrollton Invitational last Saturday. Dylan Walker took sixth place with a 16:18.29, and Gator Jackson finished in eighth. … The volleyball team has compiled an impressive 14-6 record on the year so far, and defeated both Riverwood and Alpharetta in straight games on Thursday.
