ATLANTA‘S 790 THE ZONE BELIEVES IN POWER OF PRAYER

Atlanta, GA – Sports radio station 790 The Zone’s (WQXI-AM) ‘Mayhem in the AM’ announced today that they are invoking the “power of prayer” to resurrect Atlanta Braves’ Dan Uggla’s batting average.  Uggla, in his first of a seven year $85 million deal, is currently batting .177 for the Braves with the lowest batting average of any regular starter on the team.

In an effort to summon divine intervention, 790 The Zone’s ‘Mayhem in the AM’ will interrupt programming at :26 minutes past the hour (Uggla’s number) to say a prayer for the slumping slugger.  The show will continue to lift up its voices in prayer to the baseball god until Uggla’s average rises above .200.

Commenting on Mayhem’s P.U.S.H (Pray Until Something Happens) strategy, morning show host Nick Cellini said, “To quote Mickey in Rocky 2, ‘Sure I’ll Pray, what the Hell do I have to lose?’”

790 The Zone is also asking all Atlanta Braves fans to join them in a moment of quiet reflection each morning at :26 minutes past the hour to intercede on Uggla’s behalf.  Since Mayhem in the AM started the divine intervention on Monday, Uggla has improved his batting average by one point and went 1 for 4 with a two run homerun yesterday against the Toronto Blue Jay’s.
