Softball shuts out Grayson; Falcons football shut down by Grayson

The football team started region play against No. 8-ranked Grayson last Friday and fell 27-7. Hunter Watts tossed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Marshall Steed in the second quarter, but the Falcons offense was held to only 84 yards. The Falcons host Central Gwinnett this Friday at 7:30 p.m. … Kori Waugh (three RBIs) and Sydney Glascow (two RBIs) led the softball team (9-4) to a 9-0 win over Grayson last Wednesday. Allie Miles pitched a one-hitter, as the girls shut out Central Gwinnett 8-0 last Thursday. Kelsey Martin added two RBIs at the plate. They play Sandy Creek this Wednesday at 5 p.m. … The volleyball team fell to Norcross but defeated Oconee County last Thursday. Sarah Beth White led the team with 14 kills. The Falcons next play Tuesday against Parkview and Central Gwinnett . … The girls cross country team finished fourth in the Carrollton Invitational last Saturday. Nina Kamber led the girls with a time of 22:40 . The boys and girls will both compete in the Gwinnett County Meet this Saturday.
