Oppourtunities abundant, but not taken advantage of in 28-7 loss

The football team entered last Friday with a 1-1 record and came up short yet again, losing 28-7 to Parkview. Mistakes and missed opportunities defined the night for Berkmar, as the team failed on two fourth-down conversions and had one punt blocked while its quarterbacks threw two interceptions. The Patriots’ lone touchdown on the night came on a 33-yard scamper from running back Michael Rosser. On a positive note, the Berkmar defense played solid for most the game, including a third-quarter stretch in which the Patriots held the Panthers to minus-11 yards and no points. The team will look to redeem itself this Friday at 7:30 p.m. when it travels to Shiloh . … The softball team had a disappointing time last week, losing 19-1 to Decatur and 13-0 to North Springs. This week, the Lady Patriots welcome North Springs on Wednesday and Salem on Thursday. … The volleyball team also struggled last week, dropping three two-game matches against Chamblee, Blessed Trinity and North Forsyth . The team has two Thursday dates this week, first at 5 p.m. against Flowery Branch and then at 6 p.m. against Meadowcreek.
