Kyle Karempelis does double duty on offense, but Wolves fall 21-14

The football team led Darlington last Friday 14-13 with nine minutes remaining but could not hold on, as Nash Nance reached the end zone to give the Tigers a 21-14 win. Kyle Karempelis had 69 yards rushing and 52 receiving for the Wolves (1-1), who host Holy Innocents’ this Friday at 7:30 p.m. … The softball team defeated Jefferson 4-2 last Wednesday in the Buford Invitational. Paige Hamlin scored a run and Kelsey Sanders added an RBI. … The No. 2-ranked volleyball team was busy this week, defeating Blessed Trinity and Fellowship Christian last Wednesday. The Wolves then defeated Woodward Academy, but lost to Pope on Thursday. Anne Marie Armstrong had four aces and 29 kills. Last Saturday, they went 4-1, defeating Landmark, GAC, Walker and Decatur. The Wolves’ sole loss came to Westminster. … The boys cross country team finished eighth in the Berry Invitational last Saturday. Christopher Duvall led the team with a time of 17:04. The girls team finished 18th in the Berry Invitational. They were led by Jane Strader with a time of 20:41.
