Bullock leads #5 softball team in the circle and at the plate in dominating victory

The football team jumped on Central Gwinnett early last Friday and held on to a 30-14 victory. Ryan Cooke scooped up a blocked punt and scored to put the Hawks up 17-0 after the first quarter. The Hawks (2-0) play two-time defending Region 7-AAAAA champion Norcross this Friday. …The No. 5-ranked softball team defeated Dacula last Wednesday 14-5 with a dominating performance both on the mound and at the plate by Morgan Bullock. Bullock was 5-for-5 at the plate and pitched 3 2/3 innings, only allowing one earned run in the victory. … The volleyball team (10-7) went 1-3 in the Gwinnett-Cobb Challenge last Saturday, defeating Wheeler, but losing to Kennesaw Mountain, North Cobb and Lassiter. … The boys cross country team finished 18th in the Berry Invitational last Saturday. Austin Boetje led the Hawks with a time of 17:52. “I was pleased with the effort,” said head coach Andy Christie. “It was a very crowded race, and we got stuck in the pack a little bit.” The girls cross country team finished 16th in the Invitational and were led by Brittany Westmoreland with a time of 20:55.
