Raiders walloped by Blessed Trinity, 42-14

The football team dropped a 42-14 decision to Blessed Trinity (2-0) on Friday night. Riverwood was never really in the game, as the Titans were ahead 35-0 by the middle of the third quarter. The Raiders did show some heart, however, as quarterback Khalil Priddie scored two touchdowns in the second half. The first was a 1-yard touchdown run while the second was a beautiful 31-yard strike to wide receiver Adam Johnson. Another big play from the second half came when Johnson blocked a Blessed Trinity punt during the fourth quarter. The Raiders travel to Bremen on Friday to take on the Class 1A Blue Devils. … The softball team dominated North Atlanta 18-1 in a three-inning game on Thursday. The game was called on account of the “mercy rule.” The team will play at Carver-Atlanta on Thursday and then travels to Oconee County for the Oconee Invitational on Friday and Saturday. … The volleyball squad captured two victories on Sept. 2. The team swept Lakeside-DeKalb, (25-20 and 26-24), and North Cobb Christian, (25-20, 25-23). The team will travel to Woodstock for the Georgia Challenge tournament this weekend.
