Titans defeated by Marietta, host Peachtree Ridge

New head coach Jim Showfety missed again in his second attempt to win his first game with Northview. The running game of Samoir Patrick was extremely effective, as he ran for 74 yards on 14 carries while helping lead one scoring drive. The one score wasn’t enough against Marietta, however, as the Blue Devils were able to move the ball efficiently down the field, milking the clock and preserving a 33-7 victory. On Friday, the Titans will host Peachtree Ridge in their first game against a Region 7-AAAAA opponent. … The volleyball team breezed through another perfect week, defeating GAC and Central Gwinnett. The Lady Titans, coming into the week ranked No. 3 in Class 5A, swept both schools with scores of 25-22 and 25-20, and 25-17 and 25-16, respectively. The real test for the team will come this week, as the Titans begin region play in one of the toughest regions in the state. Milton, Kell, Chattahoochee, and Lassiter each appeared in last week’s Top 10 for the state, and each will face off with the Titans in the coming weeks.
