Eagles nipped by Campbell, face Wheeler

The football team played Campbell last Friday for the first time in school history and lost in a close game, 28-23. The Eagles are now 1-1 in overall play and will face off against Wheeler, who is 0-2 this season, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Both teams will be coming off of losses, but the Eagles have yet to lose a game to the Wildcats this century. … The volleyball team fell to Lassiter on Thursday 2-0 (25-11, 25-19), but was able to bounce back and win their next match against Cherokee 2-0. The Eagles also play Roswell at home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. … The softball team lost to Kell on Wednesday by a score of 4-3. Also, the Eagles lost 3-2 to Walton on Thursday, their first loss to the Raiders in three years. The Eagles are now 1-2 in region play and 4-7 overall. They will head to Lassiter on Thursday (5:55 p.m.), Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe on Saturday to play Cherokee and LFO (2 and 4 p.m., respectively), and to Roswell on Tuesday (5:55 p.m.).
